Paul Klee (18 de diciembre de 1879 - 29 de junio de 1940) fue un pintor suizo de nacionalidad alemana. Su estilo muy individual fue influenciado por los movimientos en el arte que incluía el expresionismo, el cubismo y el surrealismo. Así, fue alumno de orientalismo. Klee fue un dibujante natural que llegó a dominar la teoría del color y escribió extensamente sobre él. Sus obras reflejan su humor seco y su perspectiva a veces como niño, sus estados de ánimo personales y creencias y su musicalidad. Él y su amigo, el pintor ruso Wassily Kandinsky, impartieron clases en la escuela alemana de arte y arquitectura Bauhaus.

 

Paul Klee (18 December 1879 - 29 June 1940) was a Swiss painter of German nationality. His highly individual style was influenced by movements in art that included expressionism, cubism, and surrealism. He was, as well, a student of orientalism. Klee was a natural draftsman who had mastered color theory, and wrote extensively about it. His works reflect his dry humor and his sometimes child-like perspective, his personal moods and beliefs, and his musicality. He and his friend, the Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky, both taught at the German Bauhaus school of art and architecture.
