Alfred Sisley (París, 30 de octubre de 1839 - Moret-sur-Loing 29 de enero de 1899) fue un pintor impresionista francobritánico . Fue sobre todo un pintor paisajista que se distinguió de sus colegas impresionistas por la decisiva intervención en sus cuadros de los elementos más imponderables: el agua, la nieve, el cielo, la niebla, etc. de tal forma que ha sido considerado, junto a Monet, como uno de los impresionistas más puros.

Alfred Sisley (Paris, October 30, 1839 - Moret-sur-Loing January 29, 1899) was a Franco-British Impressionist painter. He was primarily a landscape painter who distinguished himself among his fellow Impressionists by the decisive intervention in his paintings of the most imponderables elements such as water, snow, sky, fog, etc. and for this reason he has been considered, along with Monet, one of the purest Impressionists.

Nota: "Tandernaken, al op den Rijn" fue una canción muy popular en neerlandés antiguo acerca de dos muchachas que vivían en Andernach, una ciudad de Alemania en la orilla izquierda del Rin, y que fueron espiadas por el amante de una de ellas, que estaba escuchando su conversación sobre asuntos de amor desde la distancia.

Note: "Tandernaken, al op den Rijn" was once a very popular song composed in the so-called "Middle Dutch" about two girls who lived in Andernach, a city in Germany on the left Rhine bank. They were spied on by the lover of one of the girls, who was listening to their conversation on love affairs from a distance.

Joan Miró i Ferrà (Barcelona, 20 de abril de 1893 — Palma de Mallorca, 25 de diciembre de 1983) fue un pintor, escultor, grabador y ceramista español, considerado uno de los máximos representantes del surrealismo. En su obra reflejó su interés en el subconsciente, en lo "infantil" y en su país. En un principio mostró fuertes influencias fauves, cubistas y expresionistas, pasando a una pintura plana con cierto aire naïf. A partir de su estancia en París, su obra se vuelve más onírica, coincidiendo con los puntos del surrealismo e incorporándose a este movimiento.

Joan Miró i Ferrà (Barcelona, April 20, 1893 - Palma de Mallorca, December 25, 1983) was a Spanish painter, sculptor, engraver and ceramist, considered one of the leading representatives of surrealism. He reflected his interest in the subconscious, in "childhood" and in his country in his work. Initially he showed strong influence Fauves, Cubists and Expressionists and later he developed a painting with a touch naïve. After his stay in Paris, his work becomes more oneiric, coinciding with the tenets of surrealism, the pictorial movement which he joined.

Paul Klee (18 de diciembre de 1879 - 29 de junio de 1940) fue un pintor suizo de nacionalidad alemana. Su estilo muy individual fue influenciado por los movimientos en el arte que incluía el expresionismo, el cubismo y el surrealismo. Así, fue alumno de orientalismo. Klee fue un dibujante natural que llegó a dominar la teoría del color y escribió extensamente sobre él. Sus obras reflejan su humor seco y su perspectiva a veces como niño, sus estados de ánimo personales y creencias y su musicalidad. Él y su amigo, el pintor ruso Wassily Kandinsky, impartieron clases en la escuela alemana de arte y arquitectura Bauhaus.

 

Paul Klee (18 December 1879 - 29 June 1940) was a Swiss painter of German nationality. His highly individual style was influenced by movements in art that included expressionism, cubism, and surrealism. He was, as well, a student of orientalism. Klee was a natural draftsman who had mastered color theory, and wrote extensively about it. His works reflect his dry humor and his sometimes child-like perspective, his personal moods and beliefs, and his musicality. He and his friend, the Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky, both taught at the German Bauhaus school of art and architecture.

Henri Marie Raymond de Toulouse-Lautrec-Montfa (Albi, 24 de noviembre de 1864 - Castillo de Malromé, Gironda, 09 de septiembre de 1901) fue un pintor e ilustrador francés del postimpresionismo a finales del siglo XIX. Es famoso por los carteles que hizo para el Moulin Rouge.

 

 

Henri Marie Raymond de Toulouse-Lautrec-Montfa (born November 24, 1864 in Albi, died on September 9, 1901 at Castle Malromé, Gironde) was a French painter and illustrator of Post-Impressionism in the late nineteenth century. He is famous for the posters he did for the Moulin Rouge.
